Villa Crotto is an exclusive lakeside retreat in Carate Urio, one of the most serene and picturesque villages on the western shore of Lake Como. Meticulously restored in 2017, this historic villa has been transformed into a high-end design residence where authentic Italian architecture meets contemporary Scandinavian-inspired interiors think designer furniture and lighting from Flos, exposed rock walls, and sweeping lake views from nearly every room.

Spread across 340 m² over multiple floors, the villa accommodates up to 10 guests across five beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and the option to be configured as double or twin. The centrepiece of the ground floor is a remarkable dining room built into the original crotto — a cave-like structure with exposed rock walls — featuring a grand table for 18, a bio fireplace, and a glass-walled wine cellar. The fully equipped kitchen is equally impressive, with professional-grade appliances including a large oven, gas hob, and an ice machine.

Outside, two private gardens invite long afternoons in the sun. One is home to a heated private pool with uninterrupted views over the lake — a setting that is simply hard to beat. The spacious outdoor dining area is perfect for alfresco evenings as the light fades over the water. Lake Como and a small private beach are just 100 metres away, and the pier at Carate Urio offers scenic boat rides directly to the town of Como. Golf enthusiasts will find six courses within an hour's drive, while Malpensa Airport is just 35 minutes away, making Villa Crotto as convenient as it is beautiful.
