Villa Collina A Hillside Retreat Among the Vineyards of Piedmont

Set just beyond the quiet village of Montabone, in Italy's Piedmont wine country, this elegant villa looks out over an unbroken sweep of the rolling Monferrato hills. Here, soft light, warm interiors and generous open spaces come together for an experience of genuine rest and slow living. It's the kind of place that feels both deeply authentic and entirely effortless far from the crowds, yet moments from some of the most beautiful villages and vineyards in northern Italy.

The surrounding Monferrato, alongside the Langhe and Roero, forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage landscape of the Piedmont vineyards — celebrated for its Barbera, Moscato and Asti Spumante, its truffles, and its endlessly photogenic countryside. The town of Asti lies around 25 kilometres to the northwest, and the thermal town of Acqui Terme is just a short drive away.

The main house sleeps comfortably across three bedrooms, each finished in the same warm, understated style. The first offers a king-size bed (180×200) with its own en-suite bathroom. The second, also with a king-size bed (180×200), opens onto a bathroom on the ground floor. The third a relaxed family room features a double bed (160×200) and a bunk bed (90×200) with its own compact bathroom. An extra bed or cot for little ones can be added on request.

The spacious, fully equipped kitchen flows into a dining room that seats eight to ten, complete with a cosy wood stove, while the living room invites you to linger with two deep sofas, a television and a generous fireplace for cooler evenings.

Outside is where the days unfold. A south-facing saltwater pool (10.5 × 4.5 metres) sits framed by sun loungers and lounge chairs, catching the light from morning until dusk. A large dining table for up to twelve makes long, leisurely meals under the Italian sky an everyday pleasure.

New for 2026 Beside the main house, the original hayloft is being transformed into two generous double rooms together sleeping four each with its own en-suite bathroom and a shared entrance with a kitchenette. One room opens to a beautiful view over the pool and the Monferrato hills; the other features twin French balconies. Both are finished in the same rustic-elegant style and warm atmosphere as the existing house. These new rooms are available exclusively as part of a full-property booking. Reserved together, the villa welcomes up to 12 guests in total — ideal for larger families and groups gathering for a celebration or an unhurried week in the hills.

During high season (July–August) the property is rented only in full, for up to 12 guests, on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis.

As a guest, you'll enjoy private access to both the house and the pool.
